Aberdeen Conference: Share, learn, network! #mayors2015
By on 31 March 2015
This year, Energy Cities’ International Conference will be held in a city of which the economy has long been relying on the oil industry and which has now engaged in the energy transition. What a challenge!
That makes Aberdeen an exciting place to welcome city representatives and energy experts from all around Europe to meet, discuss and network in the friendly atmosphere of which Energy Cities alone has the secret.
A rich programme will allow you to discover how cities can shift to a new economy, rethink energy production and to learn more about Aberdeen’s ’Journey towards 2050’ through different study tours.
In the framework of Energy Cities’ COP21 actions, we are also organising a high-level session for mayors "on the road to Paris 2015", with the presence of Célia Blauel, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of the Environment & Sustainable Development. This session will give mayors the opportunity to discuss the required change in energy governance to achieve the energy transition.
Co-organising the Conference, the city of Aberdeen is offering a welcome cocktail on Wednesday in the beautiful Maritime Museum, and, for those extending their stay, a dinner on Friday evening and free guided tours on Saturday!
|The city of Aberdeen has organised study and free cultural tours which will make your stay in Scotland memorable!|
Get ready for a ride on a Hydrogen Bus, discover the new Hill of Banchory Biomass Energy Centre, visit a new library where a range of sustainable solutions such as photovoltaic cells and a water recycling system have been incorporated into the design and meet stakeholders from the Udny Community Turbine, the first 100% community-owned, built, financed and operated wind turbine on Scottish mainland.
Enjoy your stay!
